Ray By Sorelle began with two sisters, a suitcase of handwoven sarees and the conviction that a drape made by hand deserves to be worn, not saved for someday. We work directly with weaving families across India, keep our collections deliberately small, and send every saree out with the story of the hands that made it.
The weavers
We buy straight from weaving clusters in Varanasi, Kanchipuram, Chanderi, Bhagalpur and Maheshwar — no middlemen between the loom and the label.
The cloth
Natural fibres only: mulberry and katan silk, handloom tussar, pure linen, cotton-silk blends and silk organza. Nothing synthetic, nothing shortcut.
The making
Small runs, often a single piece per design. If a saree sells out, the next one off the loom will be close but never identical.
